Now center of the Messner Dolomites Mountain Museum, the Fort,  Forte Tra Le Nuvole rises on top of Monte Rite in the valley of Cadore. With a 360° panoramic view of the Dolomites, at an altitude of 2.100 metres, this fort represented an important strategic point in the control of the borders.
The museum tells the history of exploration and mountaineering in the Dolomites.
